Use Continuous Threat Exposure Management to Reduce Cyberattacks: A Gartner® Report

[July 2025]

The latest Gartner® report shows that ” by 2028 organizations that have implemented continuous threat exposure management with special focus on mobilization, across business units, will see at least 50% reduction in successful cyber attacks.” Unlike traditional, tool-centric approaches, CTEM enables security leaders to continuously scope, prioritize, validate, and mobilize defenses across business units to reduce risk where it matters most.

Key Insights from the Report:

  1. CTEM is not a tool, but a program.
  2. How to design efficient, repeatable exposure management cycles.
  3. Why prioritization alone isn’t enough, validation and mobilization close the gap.
  4. How cross-team collaboration accelerates remediation and reduces risk.
  5. CTEM expand beyond traditional vulnerabilities into external attack surfaces, misconfigurations and control gaps.
